The most innovative of the connection standards, it uses a serial bus for data transmission. Notably faster and more efficient than IDE. There are three versions, SATA 1 with transfer speed of up to 150 MB / s (now discontinued), SATA 2 of up to 300 MB / s, the most widespread at present; and finally SATA 3 of up to 600 MB / s which is beginning to make room in the market.
